Baghdad: The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced today, Monday, that Al-Shaddadi prison, which holds thousands of ISIS terrorists, has fallen out of their control.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the SDF Media Center stated that since the morning, Al-Shaddadi prison has been subjected to repeated attacks by Damascus-backed factions. The Syrian Democratic Forces reportedly repelled these attacks multiple times, incurring significant casualties in their efforts to prevent a security catastrophe.
The SDF’s statement highlighted that despite the prison’s proximity to an international coalition base, located only about two kilometers away, the base did not intervene, even after repeated calls for assistance. The statement concluded by confirming that Al-Shaddadi prison is no longer under the control of their forces.
