Baghdad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein returned to Baghdad.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ media office announced in a press release that Fuad Hussein concluded a two-day official visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran and returned on Monday evening.
The statement from the Ministry highlighted that during the visit, the Minister engaged in discussions with several key Iranian figures. These included the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, the Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi, and the Secretary of the Iranian Supreme National Security Council, Ali Larijani, alongside other Iranian officials.
The discussions were centered on bilateral relations between Iraq and Iran, focusing on the regional situation and tensions. The meetings aimed at finding ways to enhance regional stability, reduce tensions, and support dialogue and understanding, all of which are seen as contributing to achieving security and peace in the region.
