Baghdad: The Popular Mobilization Commission has announced the initiation of a deployment operation aimed at strengthening security along the Iraqi-Syrian border.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the operation is being conducted under the guidance of the Commission Chief of Staff, Abdul Aziz al-Muhammadawi, and directly supervised by Major General Nazim Kadhim Musa al-Saadi, the commander of the Euphrates Operations Command. This morning, forces from the Euphrates Operations Command began the operation to reinforce and secure the border strip.
The forces involved in this mission include the 10th Brigade’s 1st and 2nd Regiments, the Support Regiment, and a Commando Company. They have commenced their assigned tasks within their designated area to tighten security control over the border and thwart any infiltration attempts or hostile activities.
The statement further elaborates that this deployment is part of broader security plans designed to protect national borders, enhance stability, and defend Iraq’s security and sovereignty, working in coordination with supporting security forces.
