Al-Khazali and Al-Maliki Emphasize Unified Vision for Iraq’s Constitutional Progress


Baghdad: The Secretary-General of Asa’ib Ahl al-Haq Movement, Sheikh Qais al-Khazali, hosted the head of the State of Law Coalition, Nouri al-Maliki, at his office in Baghdad. The meeting focused on the importance of unifying visions and positions to fulfill Iraq’s constitutional requirements.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the discussion revolved around the latest political and security developments in the country. Both leaders highlighted the need to maintain internal stability and emphasized the role of monitoring security developments in Syria. They stressed the importance of supporting the armed forces and security services while responsibly observing changes on the ground.



A significant portion of the meeting was dedicated to discussing the unification of visions and positions to complete the remaining constitutional requirements. This includes the critical tasks of electing the President of the Republic and appointing the Prime Minister within the established constitutional frameworks and timelines.



Both al-Khazali and al-Maliki underscored the priority of adopting dialogue and understanding among political forces. They highlighted the necessity of strengthening joint action to confront current challenges, aiming to achieve the supreme national interest and preserve the country’s stability.
