Batman: Turkish Transport Minister Abdulkadir Uraloglu emphasized the significance of the “Development Road” project as a strategic corridor aimed at shortening global trade routes and bolstering regional economic integration.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, during his visit to Batman province in southeastern Turkey, Uraloglu highlighted the project’s importance in connecting Turkey with Iraq and the Arabian Gulf. He described it as one of the shortest routes linking the Arabian Gulf to Europe.
Uraloglu explained that the project would ensure uninterrupted access from Iraq’s port of Faw on the Gulf to London by road and rail, extending to all European countries. He underscored the project’s role in enhancing Turkey’s logistical capabilities and fostering regional economic integration.
The “Development Road” involves a road and rail route extending from Iraq to Turkey and its ports, covering a distance of 1,200 kilometers within Iraq. It aims to facilitate the transport of goods between Europe and Gulf countries, thereby playing a crucial role in global trade.
