Baghdad: National Security Advisor Qasim al-Araji received the Charg© d’Affaires of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Norway in Iraq, Alexander Lervall, at his office on Monday.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting addressed strengthening and developing bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, and continuing cooperation and partnership in the field of combating terrorism and exchanging expertise and information.
Al-Araji emphasized that ISIS still poses a threat to the international community, necessitating unified efforts and a cohesive international stance to confront the threat of these terrorist groups. He also stressed that Iraq is working, in cooperation with its partners in the international community, to support stability and restore calm to the region, in line with shared interests.
Al-Araji added that Iraq enjoys distinguished relations with the international community, based on dialogue, understanding, and constructive cooperation, which enhances regional and international security and stability. For his part, Lervall emphasized the importance of strengthening and developing bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, noting that “Iraq is a pivotal country in the region and has a fundamental role in confronting ISIS and restoring security and stability.” He expressed his country’s readiness to exchange expertise with Iraq in a way that serves the common interests of the two friendly peoples and countries.
