The Turkish President Discusses The Latest Regional Developments With His Emirati Counterpart


Abu dhabi: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held a phone call with UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to discuss the latest developments in the region.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement issued by the Turkish Presidency’s Directorate of Communications indicated that President Erdogan expressed his regret and solidarity with the United Arab Emirates following the recent attacks targeting the country.



The statement added that the two leaders reviewed ongoing regional developments and exchanged views on the evolving situation.



Earlier, the UAE Ministry of Defense announced that its air defense systems had intercepted 137 ballistic missiles and 209 drones launched as part of what it described as an Iranian response to U.S.-Israeli strikes.



In an official statement, the Ministry said that since the beginning of the Iranian attack, the UAE Air Force and Air Defense Forces had successfully detected, engaged, and destroyed 137 ballistic missiles and 209 drones directed at Emirati territory. The attacks reportedly targeted several areas across the country, particularly the capital, Abu Dhabi, and resulted in the death of one resident.
