Maysan: The Integrity Commission has clarified the contents of the Code of Conduct for public employees and its significance in evaluating institutional work.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Commission held two educational workshops in Maysan Governorate, focusing on the provisions of the Code of Conduct for Public Employees No. (1 of 2016) and its first amendment of 2017, as well as outlining the crimes under the Commission’s jurisdiction.
During these workshops, organized in collaboration with the Department of Migration and Displacement and the Maysan branch of the General Company for Foodstuff Trading, the Commission elucidated the ethical and professional principles embedded in the Code. It emphasized the obligations it places on public employees to perform their duties responsibly, impartially, and with integrity. The Commission highlighted that adherence to the Code’s provisions can significantly reduce illegal practices and prevent the misuse of public office for personal advantage. It explained that the Code serves as a legal and ethical framework crucial for regulating public conduct and fostering a culture of commitment to laws and regulations.
The Commission stressed the importance of employees adhering to these principles to safeguard against corruption risks. It urged employees to comply fully with the Code’s provisions and to report any corruption instances or financial and administrative violations. This compliance is vital in creating an environment free from corruption and in bolstering citizens’ trust in state institutions.
