Baghdad: Ammar al-Hakim, head of the National State Forces Alliance, and Shibl al-Zaidi, head of the Services Alliance, highlighted the urgency of forming a government capable of addressing the current challenges facing Iraq.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Services Alliance’s media office released a statement noting that Shibl al-Zaidi visited Ammar al-Hakim at his office in Baghdad. The meeting was an opportunity to exchange condolences on the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib, recognizing its significant religious and national importance.
The statement detailed that the leaders discussed the evolving political landscape in Iraq and the region. They emphasized the completion of the electoral process for the remaining three presidencies and stressed the importance of quickly establishing a government that can confront current challenges, strengthen political stability, and preserve Iraq’s sovereignty.
Reports indicate that al-Hakim emphasized the need for an immediate cessation of the ongoing war in the region. He called on regional and international powers to exert pressure to end the conflict and initiate constructive dialogue to establish stability and guarantee the rights of all involved parties.
