Baghdad: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has declared that Turkey disregards Israeli claims, accusing them of having “blood on their hands” for the deaths of 73,000 innocent Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. In a televised address post a cabinet meeting, Erdogan emphasized Turkey’s longstanding tradition of aiding those in need and criticized the alleged fabrications by Israel.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Erdogan stated: “We belong to a great nation, rich in history and conscience. For centuries, we have extended a helping hand to those in need, rushed to the aid of those in distress, and opened our doors to those who sought refuge in our land.” He accused the so-called criminal network, responsible for the deaths in Gaza, of spreading lies to mask their actions.
Erdogan reiterated Turkey’s historical commitment to justice and mercy, highlighting the absence of genocide, massacres, injustice, and colonialism in Turkish history. He emphasized Turkey’s history of providing refuge to the oppressed, regardless of their background, and criticized those who falsely accuse Turkey of misconduct.
In addition to addressing the situation in Gaza, Erdogan commented on the recent earthquake disaster in Venezuela. He assured that Turkey would mobilize all available resources to assist Venezuela, describing the nation as both friendly and brotherly. Turkey has already sent two military transport planes to Venezuela, along with 75 personnel, 5 search and rescue vehicles, and 6 search and rescue dogs to aid in relief efforts.
Erdogan added: “We are contributing to the search and rescue efforts and developing the necessary plans to meet the priority humanitarian needs in the region in coordination with international mechanisms. We are also pleased to see our municipalities organizing various relief campaigns for the friendly Venezuelan people.”
