Minister of Transport Urges Swift Completion of Transit Plans for Religious Gatherings


Baghdad: Minister of Transport Wahab al-Hassani has directed the swift completion of transportation plans to accommodate religious events.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry of Transport announced this directive following a meeting chaired by Minister Wahab al-Hassani. The meeting included key figures such as Administrative Undersecretary Dr. Hazem al-Hafazi, Director of the General Company for Passenger and Delegation Transport Engineer Karim Kadhim, and Director of the General Company for Private Transport Management Dr. Ahmed al-Moussawi. The focus was on reviewing the outcomes of the transportation plan implemented for the Ashura pilgrimage and evaluating its potential integration into future plans.



The meeting featured an extensive presentation of the transportation plan for the Ashura pilgrimage, detailing the allocation of buses, involvement of specialized crews, and the operational management and supervisory mechanisms employed.



Minister al-Hassani also emphasized the need to finalize plans for upcoming mass pilgrimages, particularly the Arba’een pilgrimage to Imam Hussein, and other significant events where the ministry is tasked with providing transportation services.
