Baghdad: A delegation from the International Air Transport Association (IATA) visited Iraq, highlighting efforts to boost the country’s tourism sector. The Iraqi Association of Travel and Tourism Companies announced the visit on Tuesday.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the association detailed in a press release that the visit aimed to enhance Iraq’s tourism and promote regional and international openness. The delegation included Mohammed Ibish, IATA’s Regional Director for the Gulf and Near East, and Diala Halasa, the regional director for distribution and financial services.
The association’s statement noted that discussions focused on strengthening cooperation and partnerships between IATA and the Iraqi Association of Travel and Tourism Companies. The goal is to develop operational mechanisms within Iraqi institutions by utilizing IATA’s extensive expertise.
