Mosul: Mosul Municipality Director Mohammed Al-Agha has confirmed the closure of numerous illegal industrial areas and yards within the city as part of an ongoing campaign to protect infrastructure and enforce legal regulations.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Agha stated that the campaigns have uncovered significant damage to the city's streets caused by the movement of heavy machinery and construction materials. This has necessitated a plan to rehabilitate the damaged roads. He highlighted that municipal detachments, with assistance from local police and the Mosul District Governor's office, have successfully closed several illegal yards and initiated legal proceedings against their owners.
Al-Agha emphasized that the municipality will not tolerate any encroachment that harms public property or disrupts reconstruction projects. He assured that these campaigns will persist across all areas of Mosul to ensure compliance with the law and protection of the city's infrastructure.
