Baghdad: The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has announced the implementation of a digital mechanism for admissions to private universities and colleges for the 2026-2027 academic year. This new system aims to streamline and centralize the admission process for students entering higher education institutions.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry has advised students who have completed their secondary school exams to avoid filling out any paper or electronic forms that are promoted by certain private universities and colleges to reserve seats. Instead, students are instructed to use the Ministry’s officially sanctioned “Qadam” platform for all application processes. The Ministry clarified that any forms or procedures completed outside of this digital platform will not hold any legal or administrative validity within the admission system.

The Ministry stressed that the application, selection, and admission processes will be handled centrally through the digital platform, in accordance with the approved regulations and instructions. Students are encouraged to rely exclusively on the official Ministry sources for all admission-related information. This move is intended to safeguard students’ rights and ensure compliance with the established application and admission procedures at private universities and colleges.
