Baghdad: Ministry of Defense spokesman Major General Yahya Rasoul affirmed on Thursday that a plan had been developed to build the capabilities of the Iraqi Air Force. Rasoul stated during a press conference held by the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and attended by an Iraqi News Agency (INA) correspondent that ‘Army units have not withdrawn from the Duz area,’ confirming that ‘Army units remain present in the area.’

According to Iraqi News Agency, Major General Rasoul highlighted that ‘there is a plan submitted by the Army Chief of Staff to build the capabilities of the Iraqi Air Force,’ emphasizing that ‘concerted efforts are underway to develop the air defense system.’ He noted that ‘there is a plan to coordinate with reputable companies to build air defense systems,’ adding that ‘there is a vision to complete the capabilities of the force.’
