Baghdad: The First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Adnan Faihan al-Dulaimi, has underscored the importance of bolstering industry and trade as a cornerstone for strengthening Iraq’s national economy and empowering the private sector. This assertion was made during a meeting held in his office, which included MP Ghaith Shabaa al-Kalabi and a delegation of prominent Iraqi industrialists and merchants.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Faihan highlighted the pivotal role of advancing industrial and commercial sectors in supporting local production and creating job opportunities. He has instructed the parliamentary committees on Economy and Trade, and Industry, Investment, and Development, to convene an expanded meeting with relevant authorities and representatives from the Federations of Industry and Trade. The aim is to devise practical solutions to existing challenges and enhance the business environment in Iraq.
Additionally, Faihan urged the government to exempt imported production lines from customs duties. This measure is intended to support national industry and expand job opportunities for young people, contributing to the overall strengthening of the national economy.
