Baghdad: National Security Advisor Qasim al-Aboudi has emphasized that the pursuit of sustainable security is crucial for improving both the living and economic conditions in Iraq. Al-Aboudi made this assertion during a meeting with Titon Mitra, the Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting was held to discuss mutual concerns and explore ways to enhance cooperation between the National Security Advisory Office and the UNDP. The primary focus was on achieving strategic objectives set by the Iraqi government, particularly in the development and enhancement of infrastructure in the Sinjar district.

Al-Aboudi highlighted that achieving sustainable security is integral to fostering social cohesion, fortifying national unity, and promoting responsible political conduct. These elements, he argued, are essential for the political and social stability of the nation. He reiterated the Iraqi government’s dedication to improving conditions in the Sinjar district by creating a secure environment conducive to reconstruction and service improvement, which, in turn, is expected to have a positive impact on the social well-being of Sinjar’s inhabitants.
