Diwaniyah:The Federal Intelligence and Investigation Agency has announced the arrest of those responsible for the killing of Major Ahmed Ali, alongside three personnel from the Diwaniyah Anti-Crime Directorate.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the arrests were made following a swift intelligence operation conducted by the Falcons Intelligence Cell and the Rapid Response Division Intelligence. This operation, based on precise information, led to the capture of an individual implicated in the assassination of Major Ahmed Ali, as well as three members of the Anti-Crime Directorate involved in previous murders in the governorate.
The agency further reported that during the operation, the suspect’s brother, who was also wanted for murder under Article 406, was located. He engaged the operational force with gunfire when they attempted to arrest him. The rules of engagement necessitated a return of fire, resulting in his injury. The weapon used in the attack was seized, and the brother was transported to a hospital where he later died from his injuries. The suspects had fled to Al-Muthanna Governorate, mistakenly believing they could escape the law’s reach.
