Baghdad:The Parliamentary Finance Committee has assured that employee salaries are secured and the Central Bank’s reserves are adequate to cover any potential deficit. The committee emphasized that the economic situation is improving, supported by strong oil export and sales rates.
According to Iraqi News Agency, Ikhlas al-Dulaimi, a member of the committee, stated that the recent meetings held by Prime Minister Ali al-Zeidi in New York could lead to progress on financial matters. She mentioned that the United States permits the passage of oil through the Strait of Hormuz, although Iran has not yet allowed it.
Al-Dulaimi reiterated that employee salaries are protected, and the Central Bank has reserves to provide financing if needed. She also highlighted improvements in the country’s economic situation, particularly in oil sales, despite companies exporting oil independently and assuming responsibility for any risks. These companies deduct between $15 and $30 per barrel during exports.
