Istanbul:The Ministry of Justice of Iraq participated in the International Justice Summit in Istanbul, focusing on topics such as justice, international law, energy, and artificial intelligence.
According to Iraqi News Agency, the summit took place on October 8 and 9, 2026, and was attended by Senior Deputy Minister of Justice Ziad Khalifa al-Tamimi on behalf of Minister of Justice Khalid Shwani. The event was held under the patronage of the Turkish Minister of Justice.
The summit addressed crucial issues including international justice principles, accountability, international humanitarian law, and international arbitration. Discussions also covered the global economy, commercial investment, the transition to clean energy, sustainable development, and exploration for precious minerals.
Additional topics included the legal dimensions of conflict zones, cybercrimes, infrastructure protection, and cooperation in preventing cyberattacks. The summit also focused on AI governance, legal data protection, human rights, and digital sovereignty, aiming to strengthen international dialogue on emerging legal challenges.
