Hanoi:First Deputy Speaker of Parliament Adnan Faihan emphasized the need for the government to implement further reform measures to address economic challenges and enhance financial stability.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Faihan issued a statement after a meeting with the Prime Minister, the Minister of Finance, and the Governor of the Central Bank. He noted that the government’s decision to increase the dollar exchange rate, intended to address the economic situation, significantly affects citizens’ lives and living standards, with wider implications for the economic environment.
Faihan called for the government to outline measures to mitigate the decision’s impact on vulnerable and low-income groups and various segments of society. He also urged the government to reinforce market oversight and price controls to prevent these economic and social burdens from being placed on citizens.
During the meeting, Faihan reiterated the importance of additional reform steps to tackle economic challenges and boost financial stability. He affirmed that Parliament would support any serious and responsible measures aimed at achieving reform, serving the national economy, protecting citizens’ interests, and benefiting the populace.
