Baghdad: The media office of Deputy Speaker of Parliament Farhad al-Atroushi has issued a statement addressing the ongoing discussions about the appointment of the House of Representatives' rapporteur. It clarified that no official decision or consensus has been reached among the parliamentary blocs concerning the rapporteur role, specifically in relation to the representation of Christian members.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the statement emphasized that recent reports and publications regarding the appointment process are incorrect. The office reinforced its commitment to upholding political agreements and ensuring balanced representation of all groups within the legislative body. Previously, the Parliament announced the selection of MP Ivan Faiq, who represents the Christian community, as the Parliament's rapporteur.
