Al-Fayez Addresses Minor Disagreements in Iraqi Parliamentary Committee Leaderships

Baghdad:Head of the “Tasmeem” parliamentary bloc, Amer Al-Fayez, has stated that there are no major disputes among political blocs over the leadership of parliamentary committees.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Fayez mentioned that the disagreements are minor and result from the parliamentary points system, which allocates committee chairmanships and deputy positions to each bloc. He emphasized that these disputes do not escalate into significant conflicts.

Al-Fayez clarified that some disagreements have arisen within individual political components or blocs, but these issues can be resolved through political consensus. Currently, the oldest members are managing the committees on an interim basis, continuing to host ministers, process draft legislation, and perform oversight tasks effectively.

Efforts are being made by parliamentary leadership and political bloc heads to resolve the matter swiftly to enhance parliamentary operations. However, Al-Fayez did not provide a specific date for a vote on the committee chairmanships.
