Al-Sahhaf Announces Repatriation of 151 Iraqi Citizens from Libya

Baghdad: Iraq's Charg© d'Affaires in Libya, Ahmed Al-Sahhaf, announced the completion of procedures to repatriate 151 Iraqi citizens who had entered Libya illegally, confirming that Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani has approved the allocation of an aircraft to transport them back to Iraq.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the operation was carried out under the patronage of Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein. It involved direct follow-up by senior officials at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and was coordinated by the Iraqi Embassy in Libya, which finalized all requirements for the voluntary return of the migrants.

Al-Sahhaf noted that this initiative is part of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' voluntary return framework aimed at protecting Iraqi youth from the dangers of irregular migration and human trafficking networks. He added that the embassy had previously facilitated the return of dozens of Iraqi migrants in earlier periods.
