Baghdad: The head of the Construction and Reconstruction Alliance, Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, extended his congratulations to the leadership, members, and supporters of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) on the occasion of its 80th anniversary.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Sudani expressed his heartfelt congratulations and best wishes through a tweet, acknowledging the KDP’s extensive political journey over the decades and its significant influence in modern Iraqi history. He emphasized that this anniversary serves as a crucial point for reflecting on the Kurdish political movement’s journey, highlighting the challenges and sacrifices it has encountered. Al-Sudani also underscored the party’s role in opposing dictatorship and promoting principles such as partnership, pluralism, and constitutional rights.
Furthermore, al-Sudani remarked on the current political stage, which demands heightened wisdom and responsibility. He stressed that national partnership, dialogue, and adherence to the constitution are essential for safeguarding Iraq, enhancing its stability, and fostering a strong relationship between Baghdad and Erbil. This relationship, he noted, should be built on trust and mutual interests.
