Najaf: Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi received Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian in Najaf, marking a significant moment of diplomatic engagement between Iraq and Iran. The Iranian president arrived with an official delegation to attend the funeral ceremonies of the late Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, during the meeting, Prime Minister al-Zaidi conveyed his condolences to the Iranian people and government on the passing of Ayatollah Khamenei.
