Iranian oil companies will participate in reconstruction projects in Iraq, Vice President of the Iranian Federation of Petroleum Industries Redha Badidar said.
“Iranian oil companies have received requests from Iraqi companies to participate in the reconstruction, and we are not interested in northern Iraq at the moment, but in southern Iraq, Baghdad and Basra,” he said.
“There have been sanctions imposed on Iraq, and Iran has not been allowed to work for political reasons, which has hindered Iranian companies from going to Iraq, but we are ready to work with Russian companies that will have priority in joint ventures.”
He pointed out that “after that we go to Iraq together because it is a neighboring country and it is easy to establish projects because of the proximity of the distances between the two countries, especially with regard to the sending of techniques and engineers.”
