Arab Coalition Intercepts Houthi-Launched Drone Over Southern Saudi Arabia

Riyadh:The Saudi-led Arab Coalition announced the successful interception and destruction of a drone launched by the Yemeni “Ansar Allah” (Houthi) group targeting the southern region of Saudi Arabia. The interception marks the latest in a series of defensive actions by the coalition against drone threats.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Coalition Spokesperson Turki Al-Maliki communicated on the platform “X” that the drone was intercepted over the southern region, emphasizing the coalition’s ongoing efforts to counter aerial threats.

The interception follows a previous announcement on Friday morning, where the coalition reported the destruction of another drone launched by the Houthi group in the Makkah region. These incidents occur amid escalating confrontations between Saudi Arabia and “Ansar Allah” in Yemen. The conflict has intensified with renewed ground fighting between the Houthi group and the Yemeni army, accompanied by an increase in missile and drone attacks targeting critical infrastructure within Saudi Arabia.
