Cairo: The draw for the preliminary rounds of the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup for the 2026-2027 season is scheduled to take place today at the headquarters of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) in Cairo, Egypt. The event will commence with the draw for the CAF Confederation Cup, followed by the CAF Champions League draw, featuring clubs from various member national associations.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, CAF had previously announced that the prize money for both competitions would remain unchanged. The Champions League winner is set to receive six million US dollars, while the Confederation Cup winner will earn four million US dollars. Additionally, clubs that are eliminated in the preliminary round will receive a solidarity grant of 100,000 US dollars each. This initiative is part of a broader program aimed at supporting participating clubs and enhancing the competitiveness of African club competitions.

Currently, Mamelodi Sundowns hold the title of reigning champions of the CAF Champions League, and USM Alger won the CAF Confederation Cup last season.
