Baghdad: The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the House of Wisdom, Naeem Al-Aboudi, met with the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Iraq, Elbrus Kutrashev, to discuss prospects for joint cooperation.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the House of Wisdom stated in a press release that Al-Aboudi welcomed the Russian Ambassador, who congratulated him on assuming the chairmanship of the Board of Trustees and expressed hope for his success in strengthening the institution's scientific and cultural role.

Al-Aboudi expressed his gratitude to the Russian Ambassador for the visit and reiterated the House of Wisdom's commitment to expanding cooperation with international scientific and cultural institutions. He emphasized the importance of exchanging expertise and knowledge to promote cultural and civilizational dialogue between Iraq and the Russian Federation.

The meeting focused on developing joint cooperation between the House of Wisdom and various Russian academic institutions, research centers, cultural institutions, and universities. Plans include organizing specialized scientific conferences and seminars, facilitating expert and academic exchanges, and implementing joint academic and cultural programs addressing mutual intellectual and scientific interests.

Both parties underscored the importance of strengthening cultural and scientific relations between Iraq and Russia. They highlighted the need for institutional partnerships to support scientific research and embrace international experiences that align with common goals, fostering communication between academic and cultural elites in both countries.

The Russian Ambassador toured the historic House of Wisdom building, exploring its departments and library. He received insights into the building's history, cultural heritage, and key scientific and cultural activities. The Ambassador praised the institution's role in enriching intellectual and research activities in Iraq, appreciating the cultural and symbolic value of the historic building. He affirmed Russia's interest in developing cooperation with the House of Wisdom and expanding partnerships with Iraqi research and cultural institutions.
