Baghdad: A source at the American company Chevron stated that an oil tanker chartered by the company was previously attacked by a drone in the Black Sea and is currently en route to a safe port.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the source added in an interview with Novosti News Agency: "The tanker is currently heading to a safe port, and we are coordinating procedures with the tanker's operator and the relevant authorities."
The source confirmed the incident to the agency, noting that the entire crew is safe and the tanker is in stable condition. The incident did not affect oil exports.
The source continued: "Chevron continues to closely monitor the situation."
Earlier, two foreign oil tankers chartered by the international consortiums Tengizchevroil (TCO) and Karachaganak Petroleum Operating (KPO) for transporting oil from Kazakhstan were damaged in a Ukrainian drone attack near the Caspian Pipeline Consortium's terminal in the Black Sea.
The Kazakh Ministry of Energy confirmed reports of incidents involving the two tankers near the Caspian Pipeline Consortium's offshore terminal.
