Earthquake of 4.1 Magnitude Hits Coast of Antalya


Antalya: An earthquake measuring 4.1 on the Richter scale struck the coast of Antalya in southwestern Turkey on Tuesday afternoon.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) stated in a press release that the earthquake was recorded at 2:20 PM local time. The epicenter was located off the Mediterranean coast of Antalya province.



AFAD indicated in its statement that the earthquake’s depth was 40.87 kilometers, and its epicenter was approximately 18 kilometers from the Manavgat district of Antalya province. The Turkish Disaster Management Authority clarified that no casualties or property damage have been reported so far, and that it is monitoring the situation on the ground.
