Erdogan and Burnham Discuss Strategic Partnerships in Phone Call


Ankara: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and British Prime Minister Andy Burnham engaged in a phone call on Monday evening to discuss bilateral relations and regional and international developments.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the conversation focused on strengthening ties between Turkey and the United Kingdom. The Turkish Presidency’s Directorate of Communications issued a statement detailing the discussions held on the Turkish “InSocial” platform. During the call, President Erdogan congratulated Prime Minister Burnham on his new position and expressed optimism for enhanced cooperation between the two nations.



Erdogan highlighted the progress made in bilateral relations, particularly in the defense industry sector, underscoring the significance of the Strategic Partnership Framework Agreement and the Security and Defense Partnership Agreement signed between Turkey and the UK. These agreements are seen as pivotal in achieving the mutual goals of increasing trade volume and expanding investment opportunities.
