Ankara: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan affirmed that his country’s policy is based on the principle of striving to resolve crises before they escalate into open conflicts, through a policy focused on peace, dialogue, and negotiation.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, in a speech delivered at the Presidential Complex in Ankara following a cabinet meeting last night, Erdogan said: “We defend the right and support justice wherever it may be in the world, and we speak the truth courageously and without fear of anyone,” referring to the escalating tensions globally.
He added: “Our country’s steadfast stance on events, its bold, courageous, honest, and principled position, is followed with appreciation by everyone.”
Erdogan explained that Turkey’s sole objective in these times, when the global order is experiencing violent upheavals, is to gain new friends, not to generate animosity, amplify conflicts, or deep problems.
Erdogan emphasized that while Turkey respects the sovereign rights of nations, it expects everyone to act with respect for its rights and laws.
