Foreign Minister and British Official Explore Enhancing Joint Cooperation

Baghdad: Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein discussed bilateral relations and ways to enhance joint cooperation in areas of mutual interest with an official from the British Foreign Office.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a press release: “Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein met today in Baghdad with Helena Vega, Executive Director of Operations at the British Foreign Office. During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations between Iraq and the United Kingdom and ways to enhance joint cooperation in areas of mutual interest, in a manner that serves the interests of both friendly countries.”

The meeting also addressed the efforts being made to form the Iraqi government and the constitutional requirements related to the selection of the President of the Republic, while emphasizing the importance of supporting political stability and strengthening the democratic process in Iraq.
