BAGHDAD Foreign Minister Mohammed Ali alHakim stressed the urgent need for Iraq to the efforts of the United Nations and humanitarian organizations because of the heavy legacy of the war on terrorism.
AlHakim, during his meeting with UN High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi in Geneva on the sidelines of the 40th session of the Human Rights Council, called for “the expansion of UNHCR’s work and the provision of more necessary supplies for displaced families, pointing out that the infrastructure of cities is important for the return of displaced people to their areas.”
For his part, Grandi stressed, according to the Information Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the continuation of the work of the Commission to receive the displaced people, where it provides support and assistance to displaced persons returning to their areas of residence.
