Head of Al-Hasam Alliance Asserts Constitutional Right to State-Controlled Weapons

Baghdad: The head of the Al-Hasam Alliance, Thabit al-Abbasi, has made a firm declaration regarding the control of weapons, stating that it is not merely a political option but a constitutional right. Al-Abbasi emphasized that the monopolization of weapons by the state is essential for the establishment of a robust nation that can protect its citizens and maintain its sovereignty.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Abbasi expressed his full support for the State Administration Coalition's recent decision to uphold this principle. He underscored the necessity of backing the government and judiciary in their efforts to address this issue firmly, in line with the constitution and legal frameworks, while disregarding any other considerations.

Al-Abbasi further elaborated that placing weapons exclusively under state control would bolster security and stability across the nation. This, he believes, would facilitate the tackling of economic challenges and initiate a new phase of reconstruction and development, driven by the collective efforts of all Iraqis.
