Baghdad: The Iraqi Meteorological Organization has forecast varying rainfall and a rise in temperatures over the coming days. A statement from the organization indicated that “Wednesday’s weather will be clear with some clouds in the northern region, and partly cloudy to cloudy in the central and southern regions, with a chance of light rain showers in the southern region at night. Temperatures will generally rise, and horizontal visibility will be 8-10 km, decreasing to 5-7 km in rain.”
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the statement further specified that “the maximum temperatures for Wednesday in all Iraqi governorates are as follows: Dohuk, Erbil, and Sulaymaniyah 18°C; Nineveh 20°C; Kirkuk 21°C; Salah al-Din and Anbar 22°C; Baghdad, Diyala, Karbala, and Wasit 23°C; Babylon and Diwaniyah 24°C; Najaf, Muthanna, and Maysan 25°C; and Dhi Qar and Basra 26°C.”
He added that Thursday’s weather will be partly cloudy to cloudy across all regions, with a chance of light to moderate rain showers in scattered areas. Temperatures will rise slightly in the northern and central regions and drop a few degrees in the north. Horizontal visibility will be 8-10 km, decreasing to 5-7 km during rain.
He also noted that Friday’s weather will be partly cloudy to cloudy in the northern and central regions, with a chance of light to moderate rain showers in scattered areas, particularly in the eastern parts of the central and northern regions. The southern region will be clear to partly cloudy. Temperatures will be similar in the central region and will rise in the northern and southern regions. Horizontal visibility will be 8-10 km, decreasing to 5-7 km during rain.
The statement continued, “The weather next Saturday will be partly cloudy to generally cloudy with a chance of light to moderate rain showers in the central and northern regions. Temperatures will be similar in the central region and slightly higher in the northern and southern regions. Horizontal visibility will be 8-10 km, decreasing to 5-7 km during rain.”
