Islamabad: Iran’s ambassador to Islamabad has delivered a written message from Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi to his Pakistani counterpart, Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar. Reza Amiri-Moghadam handed over Araghchi’s message during his meeting with Ishaq Dar at Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad on Tuesday.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the ministry did not specify the content of the message from the top Iranian diplomat, but said that Dar has emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to deepening cooperation with the Islamic Republic in key priority areas. He also explained the progress made under various bilateral mechanisms and expressed hope to further accelerate and strengthen relations between Iran and Pakistan in various fields.

Over the past years, Islamabad and Tehran have had extensive bilateral cooperation in the political, economic, security, and border areas that have developed further, given their long-standing neighborliness and cultural and historical commonalities. Iran and Pakistan have signed several cooperation documents and exchanged high-level visits and delegations, including at the level of heads of government and foreign ministers to pave the way for strengthening relations and advancing common priorities.
