Iraqi Airspace Closure Extended for 72 Hours


Baghdad: The Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority has announced an extension of the closure of Iraqi airspace to all arriving, departing, and transiting aircraft for 72 hours. This decision follows an ongoing assessment of the security situation and regional developments.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from the Authority detailed that the airspace closure will begin at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, March 10, 2026 (09:00 UTC) and continue until 12:00 PM on Friday. The measure is described as a temporary precaution. The statement further explained that the decision would be reassessed based on new developments, and airlines and relevant authorities will be informed of any subsequent updates.
