Najaf: The shrine of Imam Ali in Najaf experienced a significant influx of visitors on the night of the 21st of Ramadan, marking the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Ali, also known as the Commander of the Faithful.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the shrine hosted numerous ceremonies to honor the occasion, including the raising of the Qur’ans on Laylat al-Qadr, recognized as the Night of Power in the second narration. Haider Rahim, head of the Media Department, emphasized the efforts made by the General Secretariat of the Holy Shrine, mobilizing all its staff and more than 2,000 volunteers. These volunteers included medical and emergency personnel, ensuring the safety and well-being of the visitors.
Rahim further noted that the Holy Shrine provided various services to the pilgrims, such as rest areas and a large Iftar meal. Additionally, they facilitated transportation and coordinated the organized movement from security checkpoints to the main roads leading to the shrine, in collaboration with relevant departments in Najaf Governorate.
