Baghdad: An expanded security meeting was held to discuss the directives of the Commander-in-Chief and to raise the readiness of the armed forces. Lieutenant General Abdul Amir al-Shammari, Director of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, chaired the meeting, which focused on implementing directives from Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Ali Falih al-Zaidi, to enhance military preparedness.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting was convened to discuss the mechanism for executing the Commander-in-Chief's directives, aiming to boost readiness levels starting from the border areas and extending to field operations across the country. A statement from the Security Media Cell noted the importance of ensuring Iraq does not become a platform for any internal or external threats against other nations.

The attendees underscored the significance of intelligence efforts, emphasizing the need for swift responses to information, unifying media narratives, combating rumors, and adhering to instructions to strengthen security and stability. The meeting included participation from the Chief of Staff of the Army, the Head of the Counter-Terrorism Service, various undersecretaries, security commanders, directors general, and representatives of the Popular Mobilization Forces. Additionally, operations and police commanders from provinces joined the discussion via closed-circuit television.

The Commander-in-Chief's directive, issued on Thursday, calls for raising the security readiness and combat preparedness of security and military forces. The Security Media Cell explained that this directive involves conducting training exercises and troop movements to maintain a high level of readiness among all security force formations. The goal is to enhance the forces' ability to perform their duties effectively, thereby contributing to the consolidation of security, stability, and the protection of citizens and public interests.
