Maysan: Maysan Provincial Police Command confirmed on Tuesday that security forces imposed a security cordon around one area of the province following a shooting incident, aiming to contain the situation and pursue those involved in accordance with legal procedures.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the command clarified that the circulating video clips are outdated and do not reflect the current security situation, warning against attempts by certain parties and unofficial pages to mislead public opinion by spreading false information.

The police renewed their call on citizens and media outlets to rely exclusively on official statements as the sole source of information, stressing their continued commitment to carrying out duties with firmness and professionalism to uphold the rule of law and protect citizens’ lives and property, while ensuring full transparency in informing the public.
