Maysan: The Maysan Governorate Police Command announced the seizure of a quantity of crystal methamphetamine in the possession of two suspects as they passed through a security checkpoint in the governorate.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Command stated in a press release: “The detachments of the Checkpoints Affairs Department at the Martyr Colonel Abdul-Abbas Abdul-Sada checkpoint, in cooperation with the security detachments at the checkpoint, were able to arrest the suspects after becoming suspicious of the vehicle they were traveling in and subjecting it to a thorough search.”

The statement added that the search resulted in the discovery of a quantity of crystal methamphetamine hidden inside a bag in the vehicle. It noted that the necessary legal measures were taken against them and they were referred to the competent authorities to complete the investigations according to the established legal frameworks.
