Baghdad: The Ministry of Education has successfully recovered more than 1.5 billion dinars during the first half of 2026 as part of its effort to reclaim outstanding dues.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry of Education announced that it has been actively pursuing these dues, with the General Directorate of Legal Affairs playing a leading role under the supervision of the Minister of Education, Abdul Karim Abtan al-Jubouri. The Ministry has been focusing on recovering funds and collecting government debts by completing procedures for inclusion files and implementing the recommendations of investigative committees, in coordination with the General Directorates of Education in Baghdad and across all governorates.
The Ministry's statement revealed that a detailed inventory conducted for the first six months of 2026 indicated the recovery of 1,728,377,800 dinars, following the completion of necessary legal and administrative procedures related to the recovery files. The Ministry emphasized that the process of collecting outstanding financial dues continues in line with applicable legal frameworks, underscoring its commitment to protecting public funds and preserving its rights.
