Baghdad: The Ministry of Defense denied, on Sunday, the nomination of the Chief of Staff of the Army, Lieutenant General Abdul Amir Rashid Yarallah, as head of the Popular Mobilization Commission. A statement by the ministry clarified that despite circulating reports, Lieutenant General Yarallah will continue his duties as Chief of Staff of the Army.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the ministry emphasized that any information concerning the army, including its leaders, officers, and members, that appears on platforms other than the ministry’s official website or social media pages is considered false and unfounded. The ministry’s statement serves to dispel rumors and maintain clarity on official military affairs.
