Mosul: Mosul Mayor Hisham al-Hashemi confirmed that 150 owners of unlicensed generators were fined 3 million dinars each for failing to comply with regulations.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Hashemi reported that the violations included the use of haphazard wiring and the absence of silencers, which pose risks to citizens and mar the urban landscape. These issues have prompted the local government to take decisive action to ensure public safety and urban aesthetics.
He noted the ongoing monitoring campaigns targeting privately owned generators throughout Mosul, emphasizing the necessity of adhering to technical and environmental guidelines. Al-Hashemi stressed the importance of compliance to prevent hazards and maintain the city’s visual integrity.
