Mosul Nineveh MP, Intisar al-Jubouri, called on the Supreme Security Authorities to implement the decision to cancel security permits in Nineveh.

She told the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) that “revoking security permits for citizens in Nineveh is a very late step, but it is in the right direction.”

She called the higher security authorities for “to expedite the implementation of the decision on canceling the permits, and to enter into force immediately,” noting that “applying the decision during the past three years has caused obstruction to the public life of citizens, in terms of appointments, payment of salaries, change of residence and other details of life.”

Last Sunday, National Security Adviser Qassem Al-Araji announced, during a visit to Mosul, the cancelation of all security permits in Nineveh and their approval only in the camps for the displaced, indicating that they will be exclusively within the jurisdiction of the National Security Agency.
