Muscat: Sources reveal details of the anticipated agreement between Muscat and Tehran regarding the "Strait of Hormuz". An Omani source familiar with the negotiations stated that the final agreement is likely to focus on regulating navigation, enhancing maritime safety, and developing security coordination mechanisms between the Sultanate of Oman and Iran, without compromising the principle of freedom of transit passage enshrined in international law.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the source, who declined to be named, told Sputnik that the anticipated agreement includes joint arrangements for coordination in emergencies, maritime search and rescue, pollution control, and regulating ship traffic in shipping lanes.

In this context, Abdul Karim Shah, director of the Islamabad Center, confirmed to Sputnik that the final details of the agreement are not yet clear, but it can be said that the United States, Iran, and the Sultanate of Oman are on the verge of reaching a temporary agreement to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
