Baghdad: The National Security Advisory organized an introductory workshop on the system for monitoring foreign media, reports, and studies.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the workshop, held under the auspices of Advisor Qasim Al-Aboudi and attended by senior staff, marked the launch of a new system developed by the Department of Advisors and Experts Affairs. The system is designed to enhance the mechanisms for monitoring, analyzing, and responding to content published about Iraq in international media outlets and global research centers.

The workshop provided an overview of the system's operational mechanism, objectives, and scope of coverage. This includes monitoring foreign news, reports, and studies in various languages, with processes in place for translating, summarizing, and analyzing them based on a scientific methodology. This initiative aims to serve as a reliable institutional resource to support advisors and decision-makers in keeping track of what is published about Iraq at both regional and international levels.

Furthermore, the workshop underscored that the system is in alignment with the Iraqi government's digital transformation and automation initiatives. It seeks to build a strategic information database, improve readiness to respond proactively to impactful content before it reaches local audiences, and rely on credible international sources. Ultimately, this will provide an accurate and comprehensive understanding of the international environment and its implications for Iraqi national security.

The event also reviewed the adopted monitoring and analysis methodology, focusing on tracking publications from international news agencies, research institutions, and think tanks, and classifying content according to analytical criteria.

At the conclusion of the workshop, Al-Aboudi highlighted that the system for monitoring foreign media, reports, and studies represents a significant advancement in developing the tools of the National Security Advisory. This shift moves the advisory from merely monitoring and tracking to engaging in analysis, response, and knowledge creation, thereby enhancing the state's capability to anticipate challenges.
